Wow. Josephine Angelini's new series sounds awesome. It's like a mix between Alice in Wonderland and Red Unicorn by Tanith Lee (in which the heroines goes to a parallel world). The concept of women rulers called Crucibles is so cool...and the obvious allusions to The Crucible and the Salem Witch Trials...so cool. Super excited for this one!
Also, I totally get what you're saying about glasses/contacts falling off/out and then just being eaten by zombies. That's my legit worry for the zombie apocalypse. Did you ever see the first The Mummy movie with Brendan Fraser? If you have...then you totally know what scene I'm thinking about... (when that treasure hunter guy loses his glasses and then gets eaten by the mummy). - June 18, 2014 at 8:29 PM

The Red Unicorn! That series is one of my favorites ever, I just loved Tanaquil and the somewhat melancholy tone. I have a thing for portal fantasies like Alice in Wonderland or the Narnia books. I agree, so many aspects of this book sound cool.
Yep, that's the fear. I will drop my glasses, there will be friend/zombie confusion then munching. The Mummy dude fate exactly. - June 19, 2014 at 9:05 PM
