About Me
Saturday, October 5, 2013
Hosted by The Caffeinated Book Reviewer, this Read-a-thon is from October 3-8 and focuses on scary or paranormal books. My goal is to complete 4 books, here's what I'll be reading:
Delia's Shadow by Jaime Lee Moyer
Vicious by Victoria Schwab
Trick or Treat: A History of Halloween by Lisa Morton
The Waking Dark By Robin Wasserman
I'm about halfway through the first two books, I've been jumping between the books because lately I have a goldfish attention span.
Trick or Treat is fascinating, apparently a lot of what is common knowledge about Halloween is based on mistranslations. For example "Samhain" was a New Year's festival, and not a Celtic god or "lord of the dead".
I'm hoping to participate in at least one challenge, and will definitely be visiting blogs to cheer people on :).
Update & Wrap-up:
I visited a couple of blogs but not as many as I hoped, and participated in a couple of the challenges. Reading goal-wise I finished Vicious and read a large chunk of The Waking Dark but I'm still only halfway through Delia's Shadow and a quarter into Trick or Treat.
What really put me off track was during a recent bout of insomnia I picked up The Monstrumologist and did a re-read, following it with its The Curse of the Wendigo the next day which I also completed. Around 3 1/2 books read overall, not bad.
