- I… own a Kindle. It was a gift! I know from the many articles about Amazon vs. Hatchette that this is a sign of my moral decay or something, but sometimes I like getting an e-book on my TBR for $2.99. I also get books, new and used, from a variety of sources including my library and independent bookstores, so I don’t feel all that bad.
- I have a very hard time writing reviews for books I liked but didn’t absolutely love. The hardest reviews are for those 3-4 star books that are entertaining and don’t have specific flaws, but I just didn’t feel that spark. Finding something interesting to say feels like pulling out my own teeth.
- I’m really bad at remembering character names, especially in YA novels. I’ll remember plot details, my general impression, even specific lines. It’s names that escape me. I don’t know why this is.
- I love reading other people’s blogs and need to be better at commenting consistently.
- The blogging community seems very focused on new releases, due to ARCS, promotion, etc, and it does influence my own reading. I don’t read many backlist titles anymore, there’s so many exciting things coming out!
- Related, I own too many unread books. I should set up a system and read the older books on my shelves before obtaining any new ones.
- I’m very much a mood reader, which is why I don’t request many e-galleys or sign up for tours. I do have a spreadsheet of TBR titles/read books to review that I draw from, but I’m afraid too much pressure will take the fun out of it all.
- I’ve been reading this book, My Beloved Brontosaurus: On the Road with Old Bones, New Science, and Our Favorite Dinosaurs, almost every night for a month at the rate of a couple of pages per night. I love it but it’s acting like a sleep aid.
- I wish I was better at listening to audiobooks as I’d consume more stories that way. However I’ve found I’m extremely particular. Narrative non-fiction works the best, or non-stylized first person fiction. For example I loved The Martian but found the We Were Liars audiobook unbearable.
- I need to get better at balancing blog/reading time. Working on the blog takes time I would spend reading, and vice versa. Basically I need to schedule more posts ahead of time to achieve this balance.

I don't feel bad for owning a Kindle. I like to enjoy free and cheap books, which has nothing to do with Amazon - Hachette business. You can still support other authors on it, like Indie and self-pub over there.
I tend to forget about my old books too because so many new ones are coming. Not to mention I have a lot of catching up to do as I didn't read much during high school.
And as for audiobooks, I never even tried one. Not sure I'd be a fan... -

The TBR list is always growing...
I like audiobooks in theory but I have a hard time finding ones I can stick with until the end. They're good for multitasking. Maybe worth a try. -

I love that first picture! But I have a hard time with "lukewarm" books as well because you didn't really dislike it, but there was no love either! Great list!

Number 4 is something I have to work on too. OHHH! I love number 8 - I totally just added that to my TBR list. I love reading non-fiction and that book sounds right up my alley! Great list!! Top 10 Tuesday: Book and Blogging Confessions
